The 2005-06 Season

The 2005-06 Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team was a dominant force, led by the legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. The team featured several talented players, including J.J. Redick, who emerged as a star during his first year at Duke.

J.J. Redick: A Rising Star

Redick quickly established himself as a key player for the Blue Devils, leading the team in scoring with 30 points in their victory over NC State in the ACC Tournament championship game. He averaged 26.8 points per game in the 2005-06 season and finished his career at Duke as the number 2 all-time scorer in the ACC with 2,769 points.

Redick was also a standout on the international stage, being selected to the USA Under-21 World Championship Team during the summer of 2005. He helped lead the team to a pair of victories over eventual gold medalists Argentina.

A Season of Success

The Blue Devils finished the 2005-06 season with a record of 33-4, earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They advanced to the Final Four, where they lost to eventual national champion Florida. Despite the disappointing end to their season, the Blue Devils had a remarkable campaign that showcased the talents of J.J. Redick and the leadership of Coach Krzyzewski.
